Our platform
Looking for alignment on security? Need assistance with setup, implementation, or operations? We offer four standard solutions to meet any need.
Platform
Container platform
A container platform enables you to achieve several key business goals, including:
-
- Shorter time-to-market: by reusing more of your existing resources.
-
- Alignment of security solutions: simplifying security and compliance efforts.
-
- Scalability: both in terms of delivery, teams, and technically.
-
- Simplified system management: making the management of your systems easier and more consistent.
Whether you want to run it in Azure, on-premises, with your preferred hosting provider, or based on OpenShift or Rancher, we can assist you with:
- Platform setup
- Implementation within your organisation
- Operations and management
- Training staff in maintenance processes
We have developed a 100% open-source platform in collaboration with our customers, based on Kubernetes and mature components from the Cloud Native ecosystem, accessible to you. The platform is fully customisable, allowing you to select components that best fit your needs, such as using Azure DevOps instead of Argo or OpenShift instead of Rancher. It becomes your platform, not ours – it should support your business needs and fit into your overall IT strategy.
BENEFITS
Advantages
Our platform offers specific advantages over many comparable platforms:
- You get a complete DevOps platform, where the entire process from build to deployment is supported and automated, including configuration management – or just the parts you need right now.
- The platform is based on the Zero Trust paradigm and includes components to secure both services and the login process.
You get full ownership, no vendor lock-in, and no hidden markup on operations and licenses.
In practice, we bring a standardised process, and we assist with application and adoption, ensuring you succeed with the platform. We can deliver it as a managed service, where we provide support, maintenance, and operations, or hand it over to you and your organisation.
We provide support, support, and more support, so you’ll never feel lost or waste time. With unlimited access to our team, you can always call us, and we’ll resolve any issues.
PROCESS
Process
In collaboration with you, we typically select two focus areas that address your most critical business needs. This could be a short time-to-market and scalability in terms of team capacity, allowing parallel delivery. Alternatively, it could be more technical focus areas such as security and stability. It all depends on your business needs. What’s important is that we focus and don’t try to solve everything at once. The rest can come later.
We then conduct 10 workshops, typically lasting 1-2 hours per topic, repeated as the delivery progresses and all parties learn from the process and the new opportunities.
covers everything from ITSM and ISAE certifications to network segmentation, Zero Trust, policies, service security, token-based login, and remote access.
covers where you want it hosted, the requirements you need to set for the operations provider or department, and conversely, how we support their requirements and needs.
covers the stack of components you need for the platform to support your business and the technical needs of your staff – combined with any strategic choices you’ve already made, such as databases or DevOps pipelines. It all needs to fit into the bigger picture.
covers how to seamlessly migrate existing solutions to the platform, and the tools that make it easier for your developers to deliver to the platform and enhance their efficiency.
covers configuration management, which is essential when handling numerous components. Manual configuration through Word documents is no longer sufficient; automation is necessary.
covers the monitoring needs of you and your various stakeholders, such as operations, external providers, users, and many others. The platform should support these needs and make it easy for developers to contribute. Your support team will likely also want an operational overview and alerts, so they know what’s happening when the phone rings.
covers how you will test that the platform installation functions correctly, as well as ongoing tests to ensure the platform continues to work after updates.
covers the quality assurance processes that platform deliveries must support to allow new (versions of) components to be installed in test and production environments.
covers support and automation of the entire delivery process, from development through to production deployment. What will be automated and how, and what will you save for later?
covers the need to establish a structure for maintaining and operating both the platform and delivered components. You may already have this in place, in which case the existing organisation might only need to learn the new technology and delivery method.
Not all topics may be relevant, but it’s still good to touch on them to ensure everyone feels confident in the process.
Of course, the process duration varies depending on whether we install on-premises for handover or provide a managed service where we handle operations. The managed service is ready for immediate deployment, while on-premises solutions require build-out, coordination with your team, testing, and more.
Our standard services
Support
We have extensive experience with K8s in various forms, along with a wide range of CNCF ecosystem components like RKE2, Argo, Prometheus, and Loki. We are familiar with installing, operating, updating, and providing training in these technologies.
Container hosting
You can start with just one or two containers and scale up as needed, with a “cloud architect-as-a-service” included in the package. KIT provides this as a managed service, ensuring you stay on budget.
Managed platform
It handles everything from git repositories to build, deployment, and operations. You can choose where to host it, so it fits into your overall IT strategy. KIT delivers this as a managed service.
Enterprise platform
This package includes training, competence plans, and an exit strategy, providing flexible support for your staff as needed.
