OK A.M.B.A.

Establishing DevOps and Microservices Environments for Development and Operations

OK wanted to adopt a DevOps and microservices approach and sought a technical partner to establish their new development and operations environment.

Working closely with the team that would ultimately use and manage the new environment, KvalitetsIT established OK’s version of FastForward, replacing certain components and processes with OK’s existing systems they wanted to keep. For example, Azure DevOps was used instead of Jenkins, aligning with the FastForward concept, where different systems can be used to cover various roles. In this case, the automation role continued to be managed by Azure DevOps.

Overall, OK’s system now includes:

  • A series of Kubernetes environments for testing and production.
  • Automation of delivery processes and testing.
  • Standardised containers for consistent security management, including integration with OK’s ADFS.
  • Logging, reporting, and monitoring tools for continuous monitoring of operational status and usage.
  • Infrastructure for asynchronous communication.
  • Management of persistence and backup for databases and files.
  • Standardised database management, covering both SQL and NoSQL databases.
